Obituary of Bernice Doan

DOAN – After a courageous battle with cancer, Alice Bernice (nee Rice) of St Thomas passed away peacefully at the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital with family at her side on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the age of 76.  Beloved wife of Lewis Doan.  Bernice is lovingly survived by her children Leslie Doan, Alan Doan (Bev) and step son Jamie Doan; grandchildren Matthew Payne, Brad Payne (Kate), Meghan Rumney, Justin Rumney (Alex), Trevor Roberts (Carter), Ryan Doan and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Bernice will be missed by siblings Laurene Hardy, John Rice (Donna), Susan Denomy and Rob Rice.  Predeceased by her daughter Carrie Doan, siblings Shirley Hunter, Jim Rice, Larry Rice (late Terry) and Linda Spore.  Her greatest joy was spending time with loved ones. Bernice loved table talk with a cup of tea, tending to her gardens, doing puzzles and keeping up with the Blue Jay’s. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
