Obituary of Rose Jones

JONES - Margaret Rose passed away on Monday, January 1st, 2024 at the Elgin Manor with family by her side.  Rose was born on October 23, 1930 in Liverpool, England; the youngest of 6 children who grew up during the war.  She moved to Canada in 1952 to visit her sister where she met the love of her life on Port Stanley Beach.  Rose moved to the Jones family farm where she worked hard to raise a family and spent the next 65 years.  She found joy in staying active and taking care of her family.  Beloved wife of the late Clark MacLean "Mac" Jones (1981).  Beloved mother of Stephen Jones (Marion), the late Stuart Jones (2005) (Sandra) and Jennifer Jones (David Gentleman).  Loving grandmother to Laura (Charlie), Jessie (Remt), Emily (Brent), Grace, Alice and Elaine and great-grandmother to Mac, Mae, Cain and Vyla.  Rose was a strong willed woman who loved sweet and beautiful things.  Rose valued the importance of a good education and hard work.  She was incredibly proud of all of her children and grandchildren’s educational pursuits.  She is the last of her generation.  The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Elgin Manor who took wonderful care of “Rosie” over the last five years.  Rose will be dearly missed but in our hearts forever.  A private family service will be held on Friday, January 26th, 2024.  Rose will be interred at Hunter Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Simplicity Cremation, 125-750 Talbot Street, St Thomas (226-210-1086).  Personal online condolences can be made at www.simplicity-cremation.ca
